She wasn’t kidding–literally every line she had in the movie while still in her “reset” state was a question.
when you realize that garnet was “a bundle of questions” when she first fused and now she only makes statements/never asks questions because “you already are the answer!!!!!!” omfg maybe garnet is just very literal-minded due to both sapphire and rubes not having much of a sense of irony… that’s why she’s so straightforward and honest, and yet has so many issues admitting her flaws and opening up as weak…..
I thought she didn’t ask question because she was ordered not to by a diamond at one point and it put her under like, a spell where she was physically incapable
Nope! Diamonds don’t have this ability. It’s sort of confusing because after we learn that she DID do this to Pearl, people made a lot of comparisons to how she spoke to Garnet and affected her so strongly, but as it turns out, this is a Pearl thing, not a Diamond thing. Pearls alone have programming that makes them incapable of resisting an order. Garnet was NOT ordered to avoid questions. She was very influenced by how Rose spoke to her, but she was not “under a spell.”
